IV Therapy

What is Myers IV Therapy?
This formula of intravenous vitamins and minerals was pioneered by the late Dr. John Myers. For certain patients, this treatment can be seen as a multivitamin administered directly into the bloodstream. If patients  have  difficulty digesting food or for another reason do not receive full benefit from taking vitamin pills, they may respond well to  an IV nutritional regimen. For other patients, this therapy provides a targeted treatment for a variety of medical conditions.

Conditions which seem to respond well to this treatment include acute asthma attacks, migraines, fatigue, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, acute muscle spasm, upper respiratory tract infections, chronic sinusitis, seasonal allergies and cardiovascular disease. Contact Copas Health to discuss your specific needs.

Myers IV Therapy works by increasing the blood concentration of several essential vitamins and minerals beyond that which can be achieved when supplementing orally. For example, Vitamin C given intravenously has been found to reach blood concentrations more than 50 times greater than what can be achieved when given orally.

What is included in Myers IV Therapy?

  • Includes 500 cc normal saline for hydration

  • Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) - is necessary for the growth, development and repair of all body tissues. It's involved in many body functions, including formation of collagen, absorption of iron, the immune system, wound healing, and the maintenance of cartilage, bones, and teeth.

  • Chloride Combo – Calcium, Magnesium and Vitamin K - Calcium is vital for bone health.  Scientist are now beginning to understand that calcium isn’t the only necessary nutrient. Several vitamins and minerals are essential for supporting healthy bone mass over one’s lifespan. For example, ample evidence shows that magnesium plays a critical role in converting vitamin D into its active form to activate calcium absorption.  Researchers are also beginning to understand the role of vitamin K for supporting the maintenance of bone quality. This combination insures you are getting the right type of calcium, magnesium and vitamin K.

  • B complex - B vitamins have many important functions and are vital for maintaining good health. B1 (thiamine): Thiamine plays an essential role in metabolism by helping convert nutrients into energy. B2 (riboflavin): Riboflavin helps convert food into energy and also acts as an antioxidant. B3 (niacin): Niacin plays a role in cellular signaling, metabolism and DNA production and repair.  B5 (pantothenic acid): Like other B vitamins, pantothenic acid helps your body obtain energy from food and is also involved in hormone and cholesterol production. B6 (pyridoxine): Pyridoxine is involved in amino acid metabolism, red blood cell production and the creation of neurotransmitters. B7 (biotin): Biotin is essential for carbohydrate and fat metabolism and regulates gene expression.  B9 (folate)Folate is needed for cell growth, amino acid metabolism, the formation of red and white blood cells and proper cell division.  B12 (cobalamin): Perhaps the most well-known of all the B vitamins, B12 is vital for neurological function, DNA production and red blood cell development.

Patients can have other ingredients added to their IV Therapy, as needed, on an individual basis.
