Health from the Inside - Out
“You are what you eat” is overly simplified.
We are actually what we eat, digest, absorb, convert, and get past the cell membrane. Dis-ease often begins in the gut and shows up as dysfunction elsewhere in the body at a later point in time. Over 2/3 of the immune system resides in the gut, learning the status of our world based on what we swallow. Microbial genes affect physiology (and outnumber human’s by ~300).

Toxins are everywhere.
No matter how zealous we are about avoidance, detoxification is a key priority. Dehydration and constipation matter, hugely. What is toxic to one person may be fine for another person. SNP data on its own doesn’t tell you whether a person is struggling with detoxification (or needs supplements). Cholesterol is necessary for life and the synthesis of all steroid hormones. Yes, courtesy of LDL.

Our skin is a giant mouth.
Don’t put things on your skin that you wouldn’t be willing to eat. Always ask about the ingredients in all personal hygiene and beauty products.

Don't overlook stress: You may have a perfect diet, exercise, and sleep habits, but chronic stress can still cause disease or death. Stress is subjective. Typically driven more by the constant story we tell ourselves in our minds than the physical realities of our lives.
